The idea of tulle overlay dresses is fabulous! They are so versatile: wear only the simple under dress to a beach or a playground, or add the mesh overlay to make it really dressy. And I think it will look super cool if worn over some jeans and T-shirt. Ellie’s grey Hibou dress by Eliane et Lena was designed like that, 2 in 1 – simple A-line tank knit underdress with beautiful, full, and twirly tulle layer over it. Love the ballerina design on the front peeking through the mesh! Alice is wearing Matilda Jane Cake Batter Lap Dress (Hello Lovely collection) under the detachable mesh layer of Special Snowflake Dress from 2014 Holiday collection. Headbands and shoes: Matilda Jane Popcorn headband and Melissa for Vivienne Westwood Anglomania wedge platforms – on Alice, Persnickety Zaya Gray Rosette headband and Bonpoint Philo T-bar canvas sandals – on Ellie.

Alice’s Matilda Jane Platinum Ellie tunic top has the same pattern of carousel horses as Calliope Dress. This top is called ‘Jolly Holiday with Mary’. Her Maisey shorties are from the same MJ Platinum collection. Ellie is wearing Matilda Jane too: Sprinkle Sara top from Serendipity collection, with Mud Pie shorties. In both outfits I matched the shorties to the bodice part of the tops. Both hair clips are by MJ as well, Alice’s doesn’t have a name – it came as a gift with purchase from MJ, and Ellie’s called Emma pin. Shoes: Classic pink Crocs on Alice, and Strawberry flats from Next Direct on Ellie.

I didn’t think much of this dress until Ellie put it on – it sits so perfectly cute and is so twirly! It’s from Matilda Jane Platinum collection and is called Sprinkles tank dress. Love the details, like the little ruche at the collar line and the sash that can be tied in front, back, or the side like we did. Ellie’s shoes are Livie and Luca Skipper in Cornflower.

Ellie is wearing Poppy of England Betty Butterfly dress in Rose Pink that almost perfectly matched Alice’s colors of Little Wings Ellie top in Birdie print by Matilda Jane Platinum and Matilda Jane Pink Lemonade Shorties. Both girls are wearing Mini Melissa jelly shoes: Ellie’s are Ultragirl Cats in translucent yellow, and Alice’s are Ultragirl Sweet slippers in coral pink.

Ellie wore Matilda Jane Slate Lap dress from Hello Lovely collection and Mini Melissa Ultragirl II yellow Cat shoes. Alice loves her new Jak & Peppar Brewster Maxi Tank top – perfect for this hot weather and super stylish. She wore it with her Paper Wings Gold Paisley shorts with heart pockets. Her boots are Joyfolie Maci Gray.

Ellie wore Alice’s Paper Wings Kitten Cuteness tunic – it’s two sizes larger than what she normally wears, so it looks like a dress on her. Cute! And of course she wanted her Cats shoes with it – Mini Melissa Ultragirl II.
