Today at school Alice had a ‘Sock It To Drugs’ day. So this whole outfit was put together around the mismatched socks by Little Miss Matched. I love the idea – socks come in packs of 3(!) – similar fun pattern, but all different socks. You can wear them mismatched, or you can buy two of the same pack and pair them matching. So much fun! With the socks:) Alice wore Persnickety Ivy Button Up top from Bo Peep collection and Blue Dot Skinny Capri jeans from their Sail Away collection. Matilda Jane headband, Knoll Cloud shoes by Livie and Luca, and Jak & Peppar Heartfelt Hoodie in Charcoal Motif finish this ‘socky’ outfit.

Ellie’s faux-layered cake dress is called Livvy in Cider and it’s by Magpie & Mabel. She’s wearing it with Persnickety triple ruffle yellow leggings and Livie and Luca Petal shoes. Alice is wearing Persnickety Mya Bicycle apron dress with Matilda Jane Goldenrod leggings. Her yellow patent shoes with bows are Joyfolie Loralie.

Today we mixed Matilda Jane and Mini Boden to create matching sisters outfits. Here is what the girls wore. Matilda Jane Clever Fox sweater and Looking Glass socks on Alice are from Fall 2014 Secret Fields collection. Her Mini Boden Pretty Garden Bird skirt in Duck Egg color matches the sweater. Alice’s shoes are Livie and Luca Piper in yellow. Both girls headbands are Matilda Jane, Alice’s is from an older Gypsy Blue collection and Ellie’s Vintage Bloom headband is from current Secret Fields collection. Ellie’s Sweet Pink Deer Applique tee by Mini Boden matches pink flowers on the pockets of Hold The Phone skirt by Matilda Jane from the same Secret Fields collection. Her shoes are Francesca Mary Janes by See Kai Run in peach with pink hearts.

Matilda Jane/Persnickety harmony! We found some pieces that match from this two so very different brands. Ellie’s Matilda Jane outfit: Surprise Puffer tee and Pink Petal Ruffle Capris from It’s A Wonderful Parade collection. Livie and Luca yellow Petal shoes. Alice’s Persnickety outfit: Yellow Lou Lou top and Floral Mae shorts are from Garden Party collection. Her shoes are Genuine Kids from Oshkosh.

I like that color combination of strong red coral and soft pastel blue. Persnickety Coral Lou Lou top and Wishing Well headband on Alice are from Bo Peep collection. Her Blue Dot Skinny Capris are from Sail Away collection by Persnickety as well. Boots are Flower Power by Oilily. Butterfly top on Elle is called All A Flutter Peasant Top, and it’s from It’s A Wonderful Parade collection by Matilda Jane. I paired it with Paper Wings red cropped leggings to match Alice’s top. Ellie’s blue headband is self-made from MJ’s Pontoon. Livie and Luca sky blue Petals complete Ellie’s outfit.

And that’s how they get same flora and fauna in their bodies! ‘Sharing is caring’ Alice chants as she learned at school. She’s wearing Persnickety Pink Stripe Double Ruffle Tee (love the ‘birds on a branch’ design) with Shirley Skirt and matching Cotton Candy headband from Bo Peep collection. Ellie’s Matilda Jane Hilary top and floral headband are from House of Clouds collection. She’s wearing Naartjie cropped leggings with the tunic. Shoes are: PePe Ballet slippers in silver and Livie and Luca Pio Pio in gold.

Girls are wearing Matilda Jane with a twist… I got this Pontoon top and Footloose Flared leggings for Alice and loved the colors so much that decided to get a matching outfit for Ellie from the same It’s A Wonderful Parade collection. I figured Navy Lizzy top with 4 layers of ruffles and fluter sleeves (that Ellie is wearing) would be perfect. The problem was in the bottoms – MJ didn’t make any pants or skirt that would match the Pontoon in this collection. I thought Cosmos Finns should be close enough, but when they arrived the dye had whole lot of fuchsia and almost no blue. So I had to fix it myself. I bought another Pontoon in size 14, disassembled it, got behind the sawing machine for an evening, and voila! Pontoon pants for Ellie, plus the headbands:) With their outfits girls are wearing Livie and Luca shoes, Alice – Navy Blossoms, and Ellie – Sky Blue Petals.

Ellie is wearing A.Bird Ayla Bloomers in Linen and Persnickety White Elsie tank top from Summer Celebration collection, with the wording ‘Let’s this be our motto: God Is Our Trust’. Joyfolie Adele shoes and Persnickety Cecily headband complete her outfit. Now, Alice’s blue set is combined of Matilda Jane Footloose Flared leggings from It’s A Wonderful Parade collection and Persnickety Basic Blue Tank with Ruffles from Summer celebration collection. The full text by Martha Washington on this top reads ‘I am determined to be cheerful & happy in whatever situation I may find myself, for I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance, but by our disposition’. Beautiful statement. Alice’s striped shoes are Carter’s loafers. Her headband is Idalia in Blue Stripe by Persnickety.
